Bridge and neck differences
« on: November 16, 2006, 08:21:47 AM »
I wanted to know what the difference between the black dog neck and
bridge pickups, same question about the mule.
I have a mule bridge pickup and black dog neck, I thought I might swap
them, moving the black dog to the bridge and mule to the neck.

as far as I know, the bridge and neck versions of the BK pickups are different- if you have a black dog neck pickup, putting it in the bridge won't mean that you have a black dog bridge pickup- it'll mean that you have the black dog neck version, just in the bridge position.

If you're handy at soldering, you may as well try it, of course. Just I'm guessing that there's a pretty reasonable chance that you'll want to put it back the way it was when you're done...

Basically a totally different wind on both.
Guitar strings move alot more over the neck position and generate a lot more current/signal in the pickup so they don't need or want to be anything like the bridge pickup.
Black Dog neck = DC 7.7K
Mule neck = DC7.3K
