A friend has made a nice bottleneck slide from an old grape juice bottle....

Nice tone on that!
But I wonder about the shape, does the 'lip' near the top of the slide catch on the strings when you play?

no...  it's not a problem whatsoever. i have got another one made in England which is a little bit shorter that  I've got that sort of problems with.  This one is just the right size..... lovely.
