Axetrak & Irish Tours
« on: November 19, 2006, 06:57:31 AM »
This was recorded using the Axetrak straight into PT LE with the Mbox, my amp, and Hendrix Tribute strat with Irish Tour pickups. The distortion is from the amp and the only effect is a bit of reverb from the amp. This is a friend of mind playing. Disclaimer: We were just seeing what kinds of sounds we could get out of it. He's just noodling and I cut a few pieces out. I sold my Pod 2.0 on ebay and only use the Axetrak now, it's a great piece of gear for recording a REAL amp when you don't have the option of miking one up.

Axetrack seems interesting but it's so $%&#in expensive over here (with shipping and customs) - I mean for that kind of money there are many alternatives.

I am hesitating to buy something that I cannot test for that kind of money ...

I think there is a UK distrubutor. You can also return it within 5 days or something if you don't like. If you don't like it you just notify them and ship it back. You can just email him for specifics on the return policy.

We're on the train to Bangkok
Aboard the Thailand Express
We'll hit the stops along the way
We only stop for the best

Wreathed in smoke in Lebanon
We burn the midnight oil
The fragrance of Afghanistan
Rewards a long day's toil
Pulling into Katmandu
Smoke rings fill the air
Perfumed by a Nepal night
The Express gets you there

Nice clip!!

That was recorded straight into Pro Tools LE with the old mbox. You just have to spend some time tweaking your amp and you're set. Apparently he's got a new speaker that's voiced a little differently than the version I have. It's supposed to record cleans better and less of a mid hump. The info is on his website.

It sounds very Hendrix like, esp with the fuzz octave, like it, it sounds very pure, open and organic on every style he plays through.
