Warpig & Trilogy through laney

no effects.

recorded with an sm57, just pointing in the general direction of the amp, 2ft away from it.
i havent played for a cr@plong time and it shows a lot. (pretty much no play for ~ month, prior getting the amp. i've been playing my fingers off the last few days though, hehe. poped 2 blisters already)

so, to the sound.. i am pretty much unable to capture the amp, as i hear it, but i never played a lot with mic placement before. it's more focused than what you hear in the clip. no post production in cool edit either.

the intro is the trilogy, with volume roled off, just slightly above cutoff, then the warpig full on, then i switch back to the trilogy, with (guitar) volume on full, then it's the warpig again and the bl00z piss take in the end is the trilogy again, with slightly more volume than the intro.
what i like on this amp is the low end. real growly and pissed off. you can hear it in the clip real well, but due to the mic placement & corner the cab is in, it might come off as undefined or even muddy to some, let me assure you though, it kicks ass!!

if anybody cares for the settings:

i think the higher gain does come off the warpigs a bit.
and yes, the warpig does sound absolutely huge

i can hear a pretty Good Vintage Tone out of that clip. guitars + amp + Pickups.
and, i second what you stated about the mic position and quality etc.
what speakers are in the 2x12 ??
i think and off axis will capture the tightness better.
i liked the tone pretty much... and, i know you will do it better.
i loved the warpig. thick but yet crunchy AND.. vintagey and airy sound.
Tim is teh Airy Magician!
AHAHahahAHahAhahaHAh
i´l look forward to a more focused and tight clip.. with a better mic positiin etc. No pos production.
Q:)
Haisl and thank´s for the Unholy Clips.

thanks JP.

i'm going to the store tomorrow and getting a mic stand, so finding a good position will be easier.
