Speaking of Super Strats, I bought a Yamaha RGX312 from a mate for AU$80 a while back. It looks and pretty awesome but it's currently unplayable because the bridge and pickups were removed.
I put an old Dimarzio humbucker in the bridge position and ordered the original bridge from Yamaha in Japan. Much to my dismay they offered me three different bridges for the RGX312 (apparently there were several versions made) and I took a guess and opted for the latest model released assuming it would fit the routing.
As it turned out, the bridge never did fit in (it was too big) and I ended up upgrading the bridge on another old guitar instead turning my old 'Samick' bash about into a bit of a shredding demon.
The Yammy is a nice axe. I'm hoping to eventually get a new bridge for it (apparently the original Yamaha one sucked anyway) and even put some Bare Knuckles in when I get the cash (I like what I hear about the Miracle Man/trilogy suite, and the Mule/Mother's Milk... decisions, decisions...) I've never actually had a chance to play this guitar but it feels really well made and the neck feels especially good to me.
I'd love to hear your opinions - is it worth spending the time/money to do this Yammy up or should I hang on to it as an ornament for when I eventually get around to making my dedicated guitar room 8)
If you own one of these I'd especially like to hear from you.
Cheers,
