Would anybody know what is the best power supply for multiple effects pedals? I'm currently using a 1 Spot which was alright but recently I've been getting A LOT of background noise and mains hum. I've been looking at the Voodoo Labs PP 2 Plus - anybody have any experience with it or any other recommendations? Thanks!

Don't know about "best" but my Dunlop DC Brick does the job well.

No noise, hum or heat from it. Can power both 9v & 18v (like some MXR units), has all the cables. I hardly notice it's there - which is a good thing in this case! :)

I have a Danelectro Noiseless Adapter. Cheap thing but it does what the name suggests. Works with Dano, Ibanez and Boss pedals.

I have a Pedalpower2 and it's perfect ! Reliable completely silent. DC brick i tried was noisy.

Yes, it's a good piece of kit.

If you use a single power supply to power effects that are out front and effects that are in the loop there's a good chance you'll get a bad case of ground loop hum.

Unlike products like the One Spot or DC Brick the PP2 has individually isolated power taps.....this will prevent ground loops from forming.

My recommendation;

IF you're running effects out front OR effects in the loop (but not both), then use something like a One Spot, Godlyke Power All, or DC Brick, but

IF you're running effects out front AND in the loop you'll want a Pedal Power 2.

SKB PS-45 but it's kind of pricey. Haven't used one myself 8)

i've been lurking, since I'm kind of interested in this too.

How about 2 one spots, one for out front, and one for in the loop? wouldn't that do the same job, for less cost?

1 Spots are good (or were good in my case). I had it for about a year and a half and within the last month I was getting a lot of hum/noise, then yesterday it just stopped working completly!

I suppose I did get my money's worth but I would prefer to pay a bit more money on something that I knew would last me a bit longer.

Honestly, I've always wondered this myself, but I've never thought to experiment with it and none of my amps have FX loops anymore so I can't.

I'm considering the Voodoo Labs one, from what I hear its the best. But first I need more pedals, before it's worth getting. How much does the Voodoo Labs power supply actually cost?
