just a question about les pauls

First of all: Tim, thanks A LOT for the nailbomb set! its lookin great, and it sounds even better! (perhaps some of you still remember that I got an emerald bridge instead of a nailbomb, I send it back, and got a NB bridge back; LOVE IT!)

but now i've got a problem. I'm looking for a pickup which is extremely creamy, smooth, medium hot to VERY hot, with great (pinch)harmonics, a lot of mids (midrange grind) pumping bass and smooth highs, and rather different from my nailbomb-set, (upcoming!) mule-set and mississippiqueen set.

These are the ones i've got in mind so far (in order of which I think is best for me)
warpig ceramic bridge/alnicoV neck
Holy diver set
painkiller set
Rebel Yell set

but i dont want a pickup which is too close in character and tone to the nailbomb.

So, please, give me advice! :D :)

Yay! second time in as many days I get to recommend the Holy Diver ! :D

Yep, the Holy Diver is all these things IMO

lot of mids (midrange grind)

Yes, the Holy Diver has huge lower-mids

rather different from my nailbomb-set

The Nailbomb is perhaps the HD's closest BKP relative, but they are different.  They have similar levels of output (the HD has maybe a shade more) but that's about where the similarity ends.
Best way I can describe the difference is to say that where the Nailbomb is quite precussive with loads of high-mid "cut", the Holy Diver is very thick with low-mid "chunk".

I'm sure the Black Dog does indeed kick ass (don't have one myself) but can you really describe it as even approaching "VERY hot"?
BKPs: HD, MM, NB, PK, CS, Ab (b&n); Am (b only); VHII, Tril (n only); IT, Slow, Sult (m&n)

the black dog is absolutely a no-go for me. it's too much in the neighbourhood of the mule in my opinion.

hmm, holy diver a 'familymember' of the NB? then I will skip that one too

so its down to:

warpigs
rebel yell
painkiller

but i guess the warpigs will be the best for me, huh? the les paul I want the in, is a bit thinner, and thus a bit more like an sg. I guess it will work fine, what do you guys think? (in combination with ebony fingerboard).

I was only trying to make the point that in terms of output level, the Holy Diver & Nailbomb are fairly similar - but the tone & dynamics of the two pickups are totally different...

I dont see where you'd go wrong with a miracle man?

Maybe an A5 version?

Smooth? Check
Low mids? Check
Pinches? You'll need to be to check if youre dreaming the pinches are that good.
