see what you think this time

got the mic stand.
the 57 is positioned center cone, 5" away.

the reason for the insane ammounts of clipping in cool edit (yet none, when played through the monitors) was, due to the fact, microsoft has the mic boost enabeled as default.. so turning that off entirely cured the clipping problem.

i recorded just for shites n' giggles, since i havent got anything else to do right now.. first i just got the raw guitar, then i played over some drum loops.

listening back... when i'm going to double track the guitars (more than likely once with the warpig in paralel, once in series, and hard pan em, it's gonna come out great)
pairing that with another mic... *drools*

i need to iron out some flaws, but i'm happy with the overall result. though i have to find out why it loses some definition, when recorded... weird

one thing i found interesting.. the hi-fi stream of my sound files plays slower than the mp3 for some reason

Sounds good to me, I love the Laney tone, its perfect for anything :D. I'll be getting an SM57 and mic interface when I've sorted out a new speaker for my cab to try (and probably fail miserably) getting some half decent recordings

That does have a serious Sabbath vibe to it.

Nice one davey! Really liked it.

The thing with soundclick: make sure you are exporting the song at 48hz but at 44.1hz. I didn't even think of this, but I did it and everything got sorted out.

Hope that helps!
