Thanks Johnny, I have saved it as one of my favourites so that I can have a good old look through.Sadly, I don't get to play many of their songs in the band(I have been allowed 2). Cheers for that.

Steve

I've been playing and singing I am the walrus this afternoon and making myself  laugh! Great song, It's one of the best ever!!  8)

Which two songs do the lads let you play Steve?

The guitar player who plays with Sting, Dominic Miller plays Beatles songs in his practise routine and he is classically trained. Great stuff eh!

Nice site he has put some work in to it. There used to be loads of really good Beatles tabs on the net and then they all got taken off the servers!

Have you bought Love yet Steve?

Hi Johnny, just got in from a gig.We played "One After 909" and "I'll Be Back" as part of our regular set but the guys made me out to be a liar tonight as we were asked to say happy birthday to a punter and we did "Birthday"for a change-we did, at one stage, keep it in the set in case of such an event and found that it was always someone's birthday but we hadn't played it  for months. We did talk about doing some others -we were looking at the medley from Abbey Road, i.e. Golden Slumbers/Carry The Weight/The End and I wanted to do Come Together also. We jammed "Dear Prudence" the other night as it was 8th December and I was in a bit of a Lennon reflective mood. I'd love to do "I am the Walrus"-there are so many great songs to choose. They did seem receptive to some of the more obscure tracks and Lennon songs suit my voice best. I did get "Love" on the day it came out.I have mixed feelings about it but I suppose if anyone is gonna bugger about with their tracks it may just as well be George Martin. The good news, so far as I am concerned, is that they are finally doing something about cleaning up and mixing for 5.1 surround sounds-some purist would argue against it but we have the versions with tape hiss, drop ins etc safely in the can so lets also have a pristine recording and we can choose which one we want to hear.
Yes Nick, Heltere Skelter would be a good one to do.My Nephew's band wanted to do it a while back and I went to a rehearsal to show em how its done -t'was great fun.

yes mr 38th, i look forward to hearing the beatles in 5.1!!  i've heard Dark Side Of The Moon, and it was magnificent, and even the Alice Cooper albums (Billion dollar babies and welcome to my nightmare) sounded great in 5.1.

i haven't listened to LOVE in surround yet (hopefully tomorrow, although i'm supposed to be visiting a lady tomorrow  ) but i love  DVD-A and SACD, and i hope to see many more albums on both formats.  i really hope they haven't died in favour of goddamned mp3s!
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

Sounds like a good gig Steve! I always practise singing 'she came in through the bathroom window' as a good work out for the larynx! Your right there are so many to choose from. It's all fantastic stuff. I will get a copy of love I'm very intrigued by it and think George Martin is a fine and clever bloke! I'd never get the punk lads to move in the Beatles direction but i do want a very varied set and think it could be done but they seem to think they have a market locally for hurry up harry where as i don't lol!I can hear it now, 'don't you know any nice songs'? well I'd like to say yes and a few nasty ones!
