VHII in the bridge (?) but what is the perfect counterpart for this in the neck (apart from an obvious calibrated neck VHII)?

:D the VHII neck is a stunner. but if your determined to try something else i`d go with either, a Mule or a Stormy Monday :D 8)

Okily-dokily, smart-arse! What's the difference between the bridge VHII and the neck (i.e. musical differences, tonal ranges, etc.)?

I am not particularly techie but the strings dont vibrate as much near the bridge as they do by the neck and I would imagine the pickups need to be calibrated to take that into account. You probably know this anyway so I shall shut up. It'll be interesting to see what you end up getting.

The neck VH II is wound with the same wire and uses an Alnico V the same as the bridge....what is different is the way we offset the coils.Basically you get a really fat, clear neck tone that calibrates well to the bridge for balance.

:D Ok MM the difference i`ve noticed whilst giging with these P/U`s is the bridge has a nice aggresive overtone to it. it gives a very pleasing grunt but it keeps that full rich tone. the VHII is a lower gain P/U which means it lets the strings vibrate longer giving a longer sustain this is great at the neck P/U for slow long bluesy bends & arpegio sweeps etc. it has a wonderfull full rich warm tone to it. Before i bought these [BK ] i very rarely used the neck P/U but since i`ve had these things fitted to my guitar i use the neck P/U as much as i can, it`s really made that much difference. i can`t recommend these P/U`s highly enough. Trust me if you want a VHII in the bridge then your after a particular sound right ? Do you want a P/U that complements this excellent Bridge P/U ? then you`ll want this in the neck as well i guarantee you won`t be disapointed. :D 8)

I've heard from people that the VHII's sound better in thinner bodies but this statement makes me think otherwise. Has anyone heard these p/ups in a Les Paul type body before (or even better a Les Paul!)?

Believe it or not i`ve got my VHII`s in a Tradition guitar. which is exactly the same wood configuration as a LP !! [ Mahogany/Maple cap, Mahogany neck/Rosewood finger board glued & is the same thickness as an LP !!!! ]
