there is no rule about not posting non-BKP clips on the forum, provided they are hosted elsewhere. and the rule has always been there as long as i can remember
Yes, I must admit to being somewhat disappointed and cynical at that edit. Surely a bit of comparison/healthy competition is no danger is it ? Or is it ? BKP as a company have gone down in my estimation as a result . Confused
Caffeine Junky, this is pretty much the case. We initially allowed any clips to be posted in the players forum. However this had to change when our bandwidth sky rocketed (it is now in the region of 50-60GB per month because of the MP3s) and something had to give due to the cost of the bandwidth. This decision was made in
June 2005 thus the Players forum was then dedicated a showcase for our BKP users own clips.
It also states in the README thread that:
If you wish to share a non-BKP clip then please:
a) use another storage site (e.g. Yahoo! Briefcase)
b) post it in the Time Out forum Hurley, As I'm sure you're well aware, contrary to popular belief, rules are not there to be broken. We can't bend them slightly for a couple of people on a couple of occasions otherwise everyone will want the same treatment. I hope that makes things clearer and that you can understand why we, in fact I in this case, made the decision to remove the clip.
Everyone, we have nothing against you reporting about and initiating comparisons between BKPs with other manufacturers; we have nothing to fear. Just use the Time Out forum and host the clips elsewhere.
