Custom orders

Hi everyone.
I'm new to BKP (because I can't find them in my country - Greece) but not to pickup swapping. I'm mostly familiar with Duncans and DiMarzios. I decided to order a custom pickup but I haven't decided the company yet. I'm leaning towards BKP because Tim seems to know Metal tones the best and he's also a metal guitar player himself so I think I can trust him. Also he has his company in Europe.

So, my question is:
Does BKP make custom orders? What I mean is: to begin from nothing and not just a rewind.
I'm thinking of sending an e-mail next month or so, with an attached sound sample with the tone I want, give details about my guitar and the tone I'm after. Will BKP be able to wind me a pickup like this?

Thank you!

Vangelis. (Also known in another forum as Metalblaze)

Welcome aboard!

Lots of guys on the forum have custom versions of BK pickups - different magnets, different polepieces, special covers, overwinds, underwinds.

I'm sure Tim and the chaps could build what you want.  You might even find one of the standard range does exactly what you're looking for.   :D
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

Thanks Philly Q for the answer and the welcome.
I think so too.
I just wasn't sure because some manufacturers don't have a custom shop like DiMarzio I think.

All BKs are custom made, so you can get whatever you want. The reason certain models exist, however, is because those particular combinations of magnet, scatter, and wire type yielded the best results. Many times people will request a change, and it's simply not as good as the 'stock' model.

Welcome....

chances are they may already have the pickup for you.  Send Tim an email and describe him what you want and what guitar it's going in.  He's a very nice guy and very helpful and really knows his stuff too.  And like us, he's a player as well, so what he tells you is coming from a player's perspective.
