I thought it was about time to pay tribute to the ones that slipped through the net.

The great guitarists that never got their due.

Hopefully this will serve as a catalyst for all of the young guitar heroes of tomorrow who read this to check them out....  (What a waste if they don't and if they do, what a great guarantee that I'll have something to listen to in future).

I'll put two names in play:

1) Jake E Lee

2) Jeff Tyson (T-Ride)

Frank Zappa doesn't get nearly enough appreciation as a guitarist.

Tony McFee - Groundhogs.   Went to see them a few years back and that guy can really strangle an axe.

+1 for Roy Buchanan; almighty impact on lead guitar style.
Alan Murphy without a doubt: lyrical, fluid, brilliant; played with Go West, Kate Bush, Level42, et al; listening to him gave my playing a real new life; died of HIV/AIDS a few years ago, sadly lamented.

The guitarists in Thin Lizzy were pretty good players, the fact that I dont even know their names shows that they are indeed forgotten  :roll: :lol:

What about Izzy Stradlin? His solo stuff is really good. I daresay I prefer it to anything Slash put out after GnR.

I meant forgotten by me :P I actually recognise all the names on that list so it must just be my cr@p memory or something :)
