Ceramic Warpig or Miracle Man?
« on: January 05, 2007, 11:22:58 PM »
Ok guys I finally found out the my mystery wooded Carvin DC200 (superstrat with an original floyd rose) has a mahogany body and mahogany neck. With the ebony fretboard needless to say it's a dark guitar! (it's all black too  ) Which pickup would cut through this slab of mahogany better and would also be fitted for a modern heavy/thrash sound ala Metallica's Black Album? I'm leaning towards the Ceramic Pig right now but will it be too much for shredding/soloing? I'm going with a Cold Sweat neck but I don't want soloing on the bridge to be so bassy it's out of control. And then the only thing about the Miracle Man I'm not sold on is there is a lack of mids, I'd rather have a more balanced pickup and take the mids out on my EQ or amp. Both I'm sure will do that job. Convince me either way guys!

that's what I'm leaning towards. Have you been able to shred on it yet?

I'm not much of a shredder, not because i don't like it but because i suck at it, but it sounds great, huge power and harmonics, great chuggin riffs.

Yah Im getting a ceramic pig in my all mahogany plank aswell. And mine has a rosewood board too so its even darker. If you realy want som, ething to off-set the 'dark' tho Id say go with a miracle man since Pigs are enormously bassy by nature. But im shure Il know more once I actualy get mine.
EDIT; Im a bit of a shredder so I can probably comment on that too once I have it.

I'd go with a non-Custom Warpig I think ;)

I'm tyring to fit a Miracle Man in my PRS at the moment. Mahogany body and neck with a Brazillian Rosewood fretboard. Once it's fitted correctly i'll post on here.
