Amarant axe - Nailbomb Clip
« on: January 16, 2007, 12:28:19 PM »
Hi There!I recorded some sound clips with my custom built Amarant axe (Amarants are made by two Hungarian master luthiers) which is equipped with a Nailbomb set. It's only bridge clips yet, neck clips following soon.I didn't do any drums or bass to these, because I wanted to take an A/B test with an also Hungarian-bred handmade pickup,so I used the same settings on my preamp and cab simulator and didn't use any rhythm accompaniment.Hope you'll enjoy!

Here's a pic of my axe with the Nailbombs:

Thanks to everybody! The samples were recorded using a Tech21 Sansamp PSA-1 preamp directly into my M-Audio FW 1814 DAW. I used Guitar Rig as a cabinet simulator and FX.As soon as I finish my exams, more samples are coming.

Nailbomb fits absolutely for virtually any styles of rock/metal.I play Nevermore-like power/thrash mingled with hints of doom and prog metal, and Nailbombs are the best in my Amarant. (Tried DiMarzio X2N and a custom wound Hungarian humbucker (which is also awesome, but I like Nailbombs' tone way better) in the bridge position and Seymour SH-1 in the neck position)However,I wouldn't play jazz with this one.:-D

Nice clips, the rhythm was my favorite. What is this guitar like... is it a super strat style guitar? What is the body made of? Mahogany? (Just wondering, to get an idea of how the wood affects the sound of the nailbombs...)

Thanks. It's kinda like a PRS Custom 24 with strong modificatipns including longer horns at the cutaways,25,5" scale length instead of 25" and neck-thru-body construction. It has a 5-ply maple-carbon-maple-carbon-maple neck with mahogany wings and flame maple top (both were cut back in 1991).It's got ebony fingerboard with 24 frets, with high gloss finish both on the body, neck and fingerboard. It's got a Gotoh tune-o-matic tailpiece with strings going thru the body.
