I think the initial allocation to the UK is pretty sold out.  I'd have a chat with your local Ibanez Prestige dealer...

when i talked to a dealer (last wedensday) he said there were only 2 of the 16 Desert Yellows left unsold that were comming to the UK. You might still be able to get one in RFR or black. Failing that import, like i am

Nice to see them back, especially with the option for maple fingerboards.

I have a black one with rosewood fingerboard that I got back in '88. In fact it was one of the first things I bought when I left school and started earning money. It's a bit 'cosmetically challenged' now, but still plays nice. Always wished I'd gone for a yellow one with maple board. Not paying £850 for one though, prefer my Strats nowadays anyway.

So you can only get one by pre-ordering?  Bit of a quandary if you end up with a cr@p one.  :?

Yup - but that's the way with limited edition guitars.

Or custom ordered/made ones for that matter.

the thing is though limted edition guitars usualy are good players no matter what. there not the usual production churn outs like everything else. It would be unlucky if you got a bad playing one

Yeah, I wasn't saying "you guys must be crazy" or anything like that.  I'm sure they'll be mighty fine.

But you know how it is when you go in a shop and try 3 or 4 "identical" guitars - one always has a bit more mojo than the others.  Although different players would probably disagree about which one had the mojo!

haha yea i know   the "mojo" thing is very true for low end guitars. Some Squires can be like diarrhea on toast while others can be really fun. Just depends on what you want and how it feels in your hands.

I believe that was a Jem 777 colour, like the green.

There should be a white maple-neck with a black headstock though, according to my 1988 catalogue.  Maybe it wasn't available in '87.
