going to place my order today
« on: January 19, 2007, 08:12:51 PM »
i think im set on what i am going to order. for my SL-1 in shattered glass ive decided to order a black open poled Holy Diver 53mm spaced 4 conductor bridge humbucker, and to go with that a pair of Trilogy suites in black with a flat profile and RW/RP polarity. for my SLSMG ive decided on a covered black and engraved Coldsweat for the neck with 50mm spacing and braided 2 conductor, and for the bridge a covered engraved black nailbomb with braided 2 conductor and 50mm spacing. i think this will work well because the Nailbomb appears to be a very bright pickup while the Holy Diver isnt quite as much, so ill put the HD in the alder body and the Nailbomb in the thin Mahagony body. the coldsweats seem to be the "go to" pickups for leads/shred so i went with that for the neck, and the Trilogy suites seem to be the closest single coil to the coldsweat. im hoping the two guitars with these pickups will sound at least a bit similar (i dont want to have to mess with my EQ all the time). when you order a HSS set both singles come with RW/RP so i got that for both and the humbucker has 4 conductor so i went with that and since it has a floyd ill get 53mm spacing. i figured leave the HD open so it wont look stupid with the singles. i measured the bridge pickup on my SLSMG and it seems 50mm will be the way to go, and since i dont do anything like coil tapping n such i figured braided 2 conductor would work for me. im figuring the black covers with engravings will look classy on this guitar. if anyone disagrees with anything im thinking or has a better idea or knows im doing something i shouldnt please tell me before i place my order

sweet.. i just placed the order an hour ago.. i actually decided to cover the holy diver as well.. i figure since you still see the bottom pole pieces, with the engraving (that i requested on all the humbuckers) it should still look nice.. being as i live in the US approximately when could i expect to see these things?

All of my BKP orders (here in the UK) have arrived within a week.  Also, I buy a lot of DVDs and things from the US and most of them take 7-10 days to cross the Atlantic.

So, assuming BKP have engraved-cover pickups as off-the-shelf stock (all mine have plain chrome or nickel covers), I reckon you could have your pickups within a couple of weeks.  :D
