awesome. I need a hot-rodded marshall type amp (yep, need!). Most likely splawn.

Is that how bright it is in reality? How low do you have the treble/presence etc.? And is that bedroom volume?

also, is the competition just like the OD channel of the QR, and 50 watts?

Nice playing by the way, some nice licks in there, and eruption is always good, lol.

the amp was EQ'd something like this...

Presence: 9 o'clock
Bass: 5 o'clock
Middle: 11 o'clock
Treble: 10 o'clock

Volume was quite low just a bit above bedroom levels, and yes the amp is basically just a quickrod but single channel and 50watts.. it cleans up fantastically when you back off the volume on the guitar though.

the amp is seriously bright it's hard to tame similar to a plexi or jcm800 etc.

niice!

the tapping is really punchy and clear, not just mush... lurrvly.

in terms of gain- how hard are you pushing it in that particular clip? how much more does it have on tap?

it has  6 different gain structure choices

like so,
Gear 1, OD1
Gear 1, OD2
Gear 2, OD1
Gear 2, OD2
Gear 3, OD1
Gear 3, OD2

it was on gear 3 od 2 which is the highest of the them.. but the gain dial was on 50%.. so it wasnt near it's full gain capacity but it was close.

the gain is very very clear and precise and it really lets you accent your playing clearly like a clean channel does, so you can do those tapping licks like van halen and make them sound as clear and precise as he did with his rhythmic accents aswell..

cool, thanks for posting your settings.

Single channel doesn't worry me, but if I ever do get round to pulling the trigger, I'll probably just go for the QR- the choice of wattage means I might as well, i find 100 can sound a little punchier than 50, sometimes. Also, an extra channel wouldn't hurt.

hence my stupidly simple setup

Guitar -> Wah -> Single Channel amp

nothing to go wrong..

That sounded phenomenal, even through PC speakers. Just goes to show that you don't always need a rack system with enough processing power to launch a space shuttle to get an outstanding sound.

I now want a VHII, even though at the moment I don't have a guitar I could feasibly put it in.

Really good playing on that clip too.
