Excellent. Two wise purchases in my book! You really need a Miracle Man for the new band -- make sure the other guitarist gets a BK soon, or you will be burying him at rehearsal!!

He doesn't even have a valve amp - just an MG stack and some Korg MultiFX for all his effects and stuff - sounds good though and his tone is always consistent.

Might be getting a Jackson KE-3 tonight too in exchange for my Explorer - lots of new gear for me!

I'd be interested in the HBE amps too - shed any light Ben?

As for the Korg/MG combo - it works for him.  He also does a lot of switching from clean/chorus/delay -> distortion ->lead/harmony sounds.

He's the effects master of the group and all of his sound comes from the KORG - the MG is literally there to amplify.  His sound isn't too bad and at the end of the day, it's no worse than using a rack or a POD for your sound, all of which a LOT of professional musicians use today!

At the end of the day -it's all opinion, his tone isn't AMAZING but it is good considering his gear: Stock Dean ML (altho no one knows what model or year it is) -> Korg multiFX thing -> MG Halfstack, I've heard a LOT worse from a LOT better.
What does impress me is that his tone is ALWAYS consistent and never fails him.

And in regards to the use of PODs and the like - I think you'd be suprised on how many big bands DO use modelling technology in the studio.

No point getting into an argument about it.

For those ppl knocking the gear your other guitar player is using, we can compare their demo/EP/album against the new one your band is coming out with and see if their criticism holds any real merit. Until then, talk is cheap. It's also woefully inappropriate to slag on someone that's not present to defend themselves. You come off as an @sshole.

Wasn't slagging anyone personally :? just their gear - i have had an MG with Korg multieffects and to me it sounded ghastly. Noone here is starting an argument but you.

It's close enough. You can hide behind semantics all you want.

So? Your opinion was unsolicited, uncalled for, and not nice.

No, not me! You! You started it!
