Bird,

How do you use the javaboost and what does it do in your own words(i have read the description on the keeley sight)?

It's like a treble booster with 3 different settings. By itself you can get some of those old school distortion sounds. The links to the sound clips on Keeley's site are a good representation. I like putting it before the DS-1 or amp distortion, when you kick it in it just sings. It adds some nice harmonics and some really smooth distortion. Sorry I'm not great with these kinds of "reviews". I did a clip in the players section with the DS & Java boost.. it's called Dirty Irish.

I have a 2x12 mesa boogie heartbreaker combo with 2x12 extension.  Will that do that middle mode justice?

jimm

It's about bass capability more than anything, I think. If it's a closed back then it should be fine. The toggle witch to the right sounds great so you might not need it anyways.

lazy ninja,

I got you know.  The closed back cabinets will give you more bass.  The 2x12 extension has a closed back so i will give that middle mode a try when it arrives.

I use the Keeley TS9-DXFlexi. Absolutly amazing pedal. I sometimes use it for the overdriven sounds when playing through my Cornford. But use it as a slight boost with my Laney. Very versatile and the switchable low end modes really help.

The thing about the middle setting is that on the instructions, Keeley states not to use anything less than a 2x12, i am guessing he is saying it light heartedly, but i just thought i would mention it. :)
