BK Nailbomb follow-up

As promised, here is a clip of a new song I am working on. No vocals at the mo, so nothing to swamp out the pup. Really pleased with the tone I got out of my Nailbomb, I actually took off some of the drive on the same channel as I used for my other clip and added a little more mid, I think I also took the treble and presence down a notch too.

The result? Nice and crunchy, but still heavy sounding. Lovely!

The higher notes on the neck pickup are done on a DiMarzio Evolution pickup. Still not getting the tone I want so I will be investigating more BKs for the neck pup.

Just goes to show that Nailbombs are definitely the way to go for me, hope this inspires others to go ahead and grab one!

Gear:
BC Rich Warlock with BK Nailbomb at the Bridge, Evolution at the Neck.
PodXT Live (one of the amps from the Metal add-on pack).
Harley Benton 6-string bass (running through a watered down version of same patch on my Pod, with less drive so its crunchy but not too much, hehe.)
Cubase running Groove Agent for drums.

Enjoy!

Aha! Also just realised that I am getting closer to that John Petrucci tone I was after! Just a bit more fiddling methinks, hehe.

Cheers man, yeah I think I actually took the drive down to the half-way mark, whereas before it was probably 4/5ths up. I like this tone a lot better than in the other clip I have, just proving that sometimes less is more! :D

Yeah i wanted to flesh it out a bit, and I liked the idea of kinda 80's indie Guitar / Goth where they have that kind of atmospheric higher fret guitar stuff going on, I really love that sound. I'll probably use it in a few more songs too...the idea, not the riff, hehe. That would be lazy!
