First I want to apology myself for my clumsy English but I´ll give my best.
While looking for replacement pickups for my recently used bought 04 Les Paul Studio I stumbled over the Stormy Monday neck clips on zthis site and fell in love with this option.
I emailed Tim to describe my tone desires. I wanted to get this jazzy neck character and on the other hand I liked to have a Greenish Bloomfield (my two idols) tone.
I was a little bit sceptical if it could be possible technically and if I´d be able to describe it to Tim without loss of information while the following back and forward email-conversation.
Last Wednesday the pickups arrived and filled of exitement I mounted and immediately tried them - Tim nailed it.
He built me a calibrated The Mule set with DC 7,3 AlNiCo IV for the neck and DC 8,6 AlNiCo IV for the bridge side.
The tone is more I´ve ever expected to get out of my guitar - very well balanced between neck and bridge and within the frequency range of the single pickups. They are very dynamic, articulated open and clear, when driven into power tube distortion they never loose their clarity and defintion. The tone really is this desired Green - Bloomfield mixture.
Congratulations to Tim and his team for having made and to myself for having gotten them.
