All the recent talk has got me thinking that I may well get a Caddy for my Eb/drop C# guitar. Man, I've just bought a guitar, you'd think my GAS would be getting better :( Still, it should arrive this week, so maybe then it'll die down.

Holy cr@p, that AR300 is PERFECT for me!

I can't see these on their website, i saw some really nice ones in 2006 but they dont seem to be on the website anymore? :( i don't like the proper LP style ones, but these 'double cut away' style artists are spot on for what i want.

If only they were 24 frets...

Is there an artist with 24 frets?

Well.....What I think..... (and now everybody's going to shoot me  :) )....

When you like the sound of your LP Studio, you want that LP studio, and not some other guitar, because for example a PRS does not sound like an LP. It just doesn't  :D

So...why not bring the guitar to a professional who can rework the neck to shape it the way you like it?

the gordon smiths are sweet and if you can find a second hand guild bluesbird...there great...have both so am spoilt and couldn't choose between(also love sg's have one so again couldn't choose)

hmm, so you want good high-fret access eh? - Flying Vee, no contest.

I'd personally go for a Dean one but you've got Tokai and of course Gibson to choose from as well.  Oh, and Hammer may even have something in the Vee range for you.

ahh (again), an Edwards Vee would TOTALLY rule.

From the USA, only the Vector Korina, which costs a ferkin' fortune.

The far-eastern (Chinese, I think) Hamer XT series Vectors look OK, but I think I'd sooner buy a Dean.  Or Edwards, as you so rightly say.

Hmmm  havent really thought about Vees to be honest. I suppose it's worth giving them a try. Edwards do a nice flame maple one that looks so PG they look nice. Philly Q you had an Edwards V didnt you, how do they play? It seems like youve got all the guitars I want lol.

Don't know about that, I've sold a lot more than I still own!  :wink:  I still have my old Hamer Special and the Edwards V, but nothing else on your list.

The Edwards V is very good for the price - the workmanship and finishing are at least as good as a standard Gibson, the hardware's excellent.  I'm not sure about the quality of the timbers - my V's a bit lighter in weight than I'd expect, and you can't see how many pieces the body's made from.  It certainly sounds nice, very resonant with good sustain.

Playability wise, the neck is narrow but quite chunky, not the best neck I've ever played but very comfortable.  Of course top-fret access is excellent.

I liked it enough to order another one - I've got a honeyburst E-FV-100STD on the way, hopefully it'll arrive next weekend!  It'll be interesting to see how it compares.

Yeah that's the one I was talking about! Very reminiscent of Ibanez rocket roll. Nice indeedy.

Feline, your guitars are work of art. Unfortunately theyre way out of my price range at the moment, but if youre still making guitars in say 10 years time I'd come to you before any Gibson any day!

I did consider the PEs but I just thought that double cuts would be better. I guess I'll have to try one if I ever come across one.
