changing 2 conductor to 4
« on: February 13, 2007, 12:31:12 PM »
Hi,

I've bought a VHII pickup second-hand, and I've just discovered it's a 2-conductor, not 4. I wanted to wire it in my Strat so that position 4 gave me a more Stratty tone, with the inside coil of the vh2 and the middle single coil in parallel.

This is impossible with 2 conductor wiring, right? How practical and expensive would it be to change it to a 4 conductor lead?

Tim and the guys can swap it for you.  From the FAQ page:

Quote

Can braided two conductor wire be changed to four conductor? Yes, if you decided after buying a Bare Knuckle humbucker that you'd prefer four conductor wiring, we can change it over for a small charge subject to return of the pickup by registered mail. If you purchased your pickup through a Bare Knuckle Maindealer then make your return through them.

I think it's about £15?

Doh!

I did think to myself before posting "I wonder if I should check the FAQ? Nah, it won't be in there."

Lesson learned!
