Nailbomb thru Mesa Quad
« on: February 14, 2007, 10:22:18 AM »
It finally arrived! (mesa I mean)

Just had to make a quick clip. The sound is a bit rough since I didn't do any post-processing and the settings on the quad are straight from the manual examples.

Enjoy!

I'd say the distorted tone sounds a bit quiet/thin compared to the clean (could just be my speakers?). Sounds pretty nice though, I may eventually get a Nailbomb for my Charvel

Yeah quality song! I love the cleans though i don't like the distorted tone, too scooped for my liking, but if you like it keep it.

I liked the clean harmonized sound. Your nailbombs sound very different to mine. sounds very compressed. Mine is much more open sounding. Must be the amp I guess.

Is it direct recording out or speakers?

Sounds as if the preamp would sound great but the  speaker sim lacks some depth for the distortion.

Highly defined string separation and harmonics on the driven one though.

I dunno what u guys are talking about, there is more than enough gain on this Imo you jsut need a bit of reverb to smooth the gain out and maybe lower the volume of the clean section it sounds too close.

That's deffinatly enough distortion there. Just needs some more depth to it. I do like that sound though. Didn't know the Quad good get that gainy

who said that there wasn't enough gain??? i just thought that the dist should be louder in terms of volume compared to the clean, then it would CRUSH!

Really tight. Really really tight. Wow. Imagine how some MM's or CWP's would be.

Yeah I reckon that it sounds a bit flat due to the direct out, some ambience added and it might come to live. Sounds incredibly tight though, even more so it needs some depth ...
