Buying 1/2 of a Calibrated Set (MQ)
« on: February 15, 2007, 12:19:49 AM »
Is it possible to purchase a MQ neck pickup as 1/2 of a "calibrated set" and then buy the other half later?  I'm pretty sure I want a P-90 sound for my neck but I'm not sure yet what I'll want for the bridge (HB or another MQ).

I'm looking for some better pickups to outfit my Guild X-88 "Mick Mars" total 80's guitar.  I play with plenty o' distortion (several fuzz/overdrive in series) but have always favored the clear attack of single coils in other guitars.  The stock pups on this one are pretty dark and grainy.

However I don't know yet if I'll like the mix of the MQ's sound with a HB yet....  I need to experiment!  Does Bare Knuckle provide for this?

If you order one MQ and specify that it's a Neck model, then in effect you're getting the "Neck half" of the calibrated MQ set.

That's all the calibrated sets are, two (different) pickups, one intended for the Bridge position, one for the Neck.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

and if its something custom you can send the pickup back to have it calibrated (although buying stock means you don't need to do this)
