If you play with the solo boost always on, then how do you boost when it comes time to solo?!

I use a Gigrig switching system for my effects and each patch has a seperate volume control :) or you could put a volume pedal in the loop or a graphic maybe.. :)

do you think the solo boost master volume changes the tone??

I might try this.. great sounding splawn clip sounds like u deffo had it up nice n loud.. I'm starting to really dig my splawn it's such a great amp once u've broken ur speakers in and got used to the EQ.

Hey james,
I think the solo boost def changes the tone,if you start with your normal master volume setting and the solo boost at zero and slowly turn up the solo boost you can hear the tone getting thicker before it gets louder if you know what i mean :)  and this clip was recorded at bedroom volume :o  but it does sound like the amp was cranked!! :D

V. Interesing observations.

I'm not a bedroom level kind of player, and I use the boost for actual solo boosting all the time, and I've never noticed a tonal difference. I think that what you may be hearing is the oversaturation from the boost being loaded by very high resistance b/c you're playing @ such low SPLs.

One thing to note: When you use the solo boost on a Splawn, it switches to OD2. So, if you're playing in OD1, you will notice a tonal difference. If you're already playing in OD2, there is no change.

didn't know it changed to OD2 but thats rather cool..

but i always play 3rd gear, od2.. coz im a gain head anyway.. but i've got the gain at like 11 o'clock so it's not totally insane.

My splawn rocks, i've started to get some totaly sick sounds out of it now im using just Vintage 30's on there own.. really really really like the sound now.

and i did have a good play with amp and it does sound slightly more open when the solo boost is engaged..
