Its good to see an impressive solo that has a groove an is musical rather than some guy just showing off with souless w*nk for a change.

That was really cool - as well as technically impressive, quite a unique style too.

Great groove indeed.

Very individual style aswell, it's a bit like Satriani on speed.

Fantastic.  He manages to do insanely technical stuff I'd normally hate, but makes it musical.  And he does some crazy stuff with his right hand!

Bit depressing in a way though, and I don't even aspire to play like that.  If that's guitar playing, there should be a totally different name for whatever the hell it is I attempt to do.
BKPs I've Got:  RR, BKP-91, ITs, VHII, CS set, Emeralds
BKPs I Had:  RY+Abraxas, Crawlers, BD+SM

+1.

Five minutes ago I considered myself to be a semi-decent guitar player - nothing special by any means, and unable to get near some of the people who post clips in the Players forum, but now I feel deeply, deeply inadequate, and am considering selling all my gear and taking up something which requires no talent.

Nah, I'd normally laugh, just I'm bored of all the drummer jokes. Too easy to make fun of them.

Ok, master this, THEN you can make fun of drummers' apparent lack of talent

;)

Whilst you're at it, try Moby Dick :D

edit - I've seen the original video before. I really like it, its great to hear that strat tone on a "shred" track, much better than your typical instrumental guitar tone.

yea, I'd like to see at least 0,1% of guitarists doing blast beat properly

anyways, that guy sure has a funky tone
and while we're at Necrophagist, check out the solo of Fermented Offal Discharge, some of the most tasteful death metal shredding ever
