Floyd Help
« on: March 04, 2007, 04:29:49 PM »
Every time i try to tune to standard tuning the Floyd raises up too much, the screws are screwed all the way in now at the back panel so there is no way to do it. It works fine when in different tunings as it doesn't have as much string tension. I'm currently in Eb and i thought that would be good but it turns out way more tunes than i thought were in standard and i can't play them because this is in Eb. Why is it doing this and how can i solve it?!

A lot of people struggle to tune guitars with trems without raising the bridge

Try following this:

If that doesnt work try getting more springs in there, you can fit up to 5 but most guitar have 3.

Mine has four but I may have to add more as I'm tired of it shifting when i bend the strings - not ideal for touch-style playing.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

What string gauge are you using then?

May just be in need of some better springs- not all springs are the same

I personally love the schaller ones that come with the Floyd Original

That's the problem then. Get a tech to set it perfectly for those strings - mine is set for 11s and it works brilliantly.
