Hi all i just discoved the forums on here and thought id ask for some help :)

Here the pitch, ive been playing for about 1 and a half years now and have recently got an orange rocker 30 amp and am now looking into new pickups for my jackson DKMG. i play mostly modern metal but also some blues, classic rock and older metal (early metallica et all) so yeah ive been mainly looking at the Nailbomb as i hear good things but the Miricle Man has popped up afew times but i heard that was more of a classic rock type pup. any help would be greatly apreciated as i dont wanna make the wrong decision i am hoping to hunt some down and try them before hand aswell.

i have a mm -it can do classic, but it shines in a high gain amp-it shreds a plenty in my mesa boogie mark IV-while the pup is a biiig part of tone, you also have to consider the guitar/amp heavily-bottom line..I have an early 70's marshall 50 watt head-the MM pulls of "classic" rock here because it is NOT a high gain amp-lots of headroom, so my tone is really defined more by my amp choice than anything-I switch over to my MK Iv...whoahhh look out!!harmonics anywhere-great presence...it is tight and thunderous because of my speakers as well-not too familair with the orange you speak about, but if it is gain-y, I know the MM can deliver

yeah oranges are fairly gainly but i have a gain booster at the moment so that helps abit and am soon to be using a metal muff most people say they cant do metal but i beg to differ

Looks like you're a Children of Bodom fan, i think a Nailbomb would be good for that, though Miracle Man would do the job too, in fact any of the heavy pickups would do it.

its true you got me there :) and yeah i need one that can do that and be versatile cos otherwise i would have gone with emg but they can do other styles but with the tone being less than memorable (i know this because i have emgs at the moment)

nailbomb = versatility

check out all of the clips, you will find lots of things that it can do (mainly metal of course hahahaha :twisted: :twisted: :twisted: )

search "lepersmeesa" in the players section and he has a huge amount of good clips (although his newer clips are with the Ceramic Warpig)

tell you what, i'll find you some links
