I've been trawling through the clips for the last few days (over 50megs of mps I've listened to so far).  At the moment the MM's seem to be leading in the bid for my cash

Shame there isn't the say rock riff & the same clean riff played on the pickups with the same guitar through the same amp with the same settings.  that'd make life a little easier when deciding.

I totally agree, and there will be clips for all the pickups soon. (Well, I think all of the major ones ... I'm not sure if there's going to be one for things like the ceramic Warpig, and other odball combinations)

That being said, in all honesty, how a pickup plays clean to me is of minor importance, compared to how it sounds with serious gain. Fortunately, the majority of the clips in the Players forum appeal to that side of things!!

Know this is offtopic, but will we be able to try out a fair number of the pickups at LGS? And will they be on sale there?

Can anyone say what it was like last year? Would love to try out some hi output pickups for the set which I'm buying (will have the £220 the day before LGS :P)

Last year we had most of the pickups at the show.  The ones you usually won't fine there are the custom order ones (ceramic WP, 7-String and bass pickups).  Tim brings along a great selection of guitars loaded with most of the humbuckers along with a couple of Strats and Teles.  For the last 2 years we have had 2 of Tim's Zakk Wylde heads each with thier own slope 4x12, and last year we had the H&K Alex Lifeson and Duotone with cabs too.

Not sure what will be there this year for amps.  You will be able to buy the pickupsat the stand, though last year the MQ's went quick!  I know Tim and the guys will be gearing up to build as many sets as possible for the show.
So many pickups, so little time

^ If you hurry, you might be able to get em at LGS, but it depends on how elaborate you want to get.

Battleworn camo with colours matching my viper.

Think I could order the casing and then choose the pickup when I get there?

Do you know any decent airbrushers?
You could get white covers and then hand them over to the artist to do the re-finish. At the very least you'll have a set that looks different to everyone else's.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

I don't know any airbrush artists... let alone any decent ones.  I'm thinking now I might prefer open coils...  but I really want it to say BKP on it.  Kind of like how the stock ones have BC Rich on them.  Infact don't SD & the like all have thier name printed on open coil pickups?

I'll finally have enough money to get the bridge pickup in a week or two (not bothering chaning the name as I never really use it & can't justify £100 on something I 'might' use).

I still can't really decide which pickup to go for.  I'd still say it's between the Nailbomb & Miricle Man.

If it helps I really like Tool's guitar sound on the laterulus album.

Why am I so in-decisive?
