you'll have to tell me how the warpig neck sounds like. :p

I still have not heard anyone say anything about it

I have a neck Warpig in an SG.

Think Smashing Pumpkins on Mellon Collie, Bullets with Butterfly Wings but without needing to have a bass player :) It has lots of Bass but doesn't let the bass overwhelm everthing else. A perfect heavy clean(ish) sound, also superb for mids-heavy blues rock, something like Clapton's tone on Sunshine of Your Love. I'd sum it up by saying "it growls". Growls like an angry bear

In fact its so good that I no longer listen to records and think "I wish my clean tone was that heavy" ... I now think "HAH, if only they'd used a neck Warpig their sound would be as good as mine" :)

Really?

I've allways taken the more simple approach of neck for rhythm, bridge for lead.

REALLY?

i find the neck to have not enough highs, not enough output compared to the bridge, and has a more rounded tone that suits lead perfectly. the bridge has more of an aggressive edge to it. if you want to get a vintage rhythm tone, the neck would be perfect IMO.

ok guys they arrived today.
the finish isn't quite as different as i had hoped due to the gauge of metal making the cover. in short it looks like a conventional WP but with deeper cuts around the edges.
i've taken some pics and will post them as soon as i have them pictured installed.

The buggers don't fit and i have been given the wrong kind of screws and tabs to direct-mount it

It's not their fault they don't fit but sending the wrong fittings is not easy to forgive when I asked specifically for the correct ones. Having said that the customer service at BKP is excellent and they are always happy to answer your queries however stupid and insignificant they may seem. I can only assume it was an administrative thing where there was a huge number of orders coming through and it only took four days to arrive - very impressive as it was made to order. As a worst case scenario the problem with the tabs can be rectified and I can use the screws form the previous set along with the foam.
It is a big hassle though and I can only hope that they are absolutely what I was looking for.

Why not use the screws on the original pickups?
