Orange AD30TC
« on: March 14, 2007, 02:46:32 PM »
Hey guys,
I'm searching for a good amp that could cover most of the tones I like. In that search I came across the AD30TC combo. I love its sound as it cover most of my vintage influence (Black Sabbath, King Crimson, etc...) but will it be able to cover some of my more modern influence? (Opeth, Meshuggah, mostly prog/extreme/technical metal bands)
I don't mind using an overdrive stompbox (I have a DOD 250 I really like) to boost one of the channels.
thx

No that's a single channel model.

Also look into Matamp. Kingstreet maybe.

The AD30R is single channel and I need 2 channels. I'll look into Matamp but the problem is there's no way I could try one here :|

Forgot you were in France... Also from what I've heard, the AD30TC's two channels are quite similar; instead of clean and gain, it's more like clean to vintage overdrive. Probably not what youre looking for. But you could use pedals of course.

I know they are the same, I just want to set one for clean and one for overdrive, then push it with a pedal when needed but I don't know if it'll work in high gain situation. I'm trying one out this WE anyway :)

If you want a high gain sound from an Orange, try a Rockerverb 50

I checked out the Rockerverb, seems nice but the price is a bit too high :|

Looked 2nd hand / Ebay?

I've seen the combos for about £600 or so.
