^ heh, probably my eggle, but that doesn't have too much competition, as i never really clicked with my kramer, and my ibanez is out of action, lol.

-no floyd
-body wood- preffferably mahogany but not TOO choosey
-humbuckers, will settle for H-S-H or H-S-S but H-H is optimal
-jackson scale length... think its 25"...?
-no huge carving like on a traditional les paul... EURGH!
-full but flat neck... nothing wizardy in the slightest... i despise them... but not fat/round trad. Gibson...

Well Dave (and others) will kick my ass but I would suggest that something similar to my recent 6 string purchase covers most of those requirements.

I'm just in love, theres a PM on the way to ya

Also I meant to say (but I managed a sloppy cut & paste job instead and it was too late to edit)

Look at 2nd hand Peavey Wolfgangs (available in hardtail) and the Ernie Ball Axis models. The carved top Wolfies are lovely (is that word too feminine ?)

I really wouldn't get an SL3, they seem so plasticy when I play them, it's mostly the gloss they use on them I guess, but it really gets to me :<

Hello Sam, I hope you are well.A bet of a saga here.As you say, there is probably too much choice (.....drifts off into "when I was a lad etc etc..) but that "seller" had a horrendous "buy it now" price and as you say, if he sets no reserve then he can't complain when it goes for less. GAS eh? isn't it wonderful ? does it ever end? All I know is that when it is my time to go and I have strummed my last chord, I want a nice mahogany coffin with a flamed maple top but I would liked aged nickel hardware.

hahaha, good point, eggle is right up that street! though they have carved tops (most of 'em that i've seen, anyway). But other than that, yeah, they'd definitely be worth a look. Especially if you can get a good deal on NOS ones or prototypes.    EDIT: I guess the easiest way to describe them is "British PRS".

Also, Musicman guitars are extremely nice to add to what's already been said about them.
