Hey guys,,

What amp/guitar/effects combination would come closest to achieving that old, mean, western guitar sound....exactly like the famous one on the Good, Bad, and the Ugly....

Guitar wise: a Telecaster would be a good place to start or a Dynasonic equipped Gretsch.

Amp wise: Late 50's early 60's style Fender and Strandel amps.

I assumed it was a Strat - I'm sure I heard some whammy bar use in there...

Both Gretsch's and Tele's come with Bigsby's as an option. I'm with Ratty on this one, but I lean more towards the Gretsch.

I'd be very surprised if the guitar wasn't a Strat - sounds like that wiry tone & Fender Twin with the reverb up high.

A Jazzmaster makes the ultimate spaghetti western guitar. Twangy as hell and a great trem.
