Need a warm, high output pickup

Hi! I'm new to the forums, and I want to buy a BKP. The guitar I'm gonna put them in is a Jackson Kelly, maple neck through, ebony fretboard, and alder body. I want something with a tight low end, and articulate top. I also want it to sound pretty warm, but not too dark. I also need a pretty good midrange, and lots of output.
I've looked through all the humbucker descriptions, and I'm not really sure what's right for me. Any suggestions?

your sound description could probably be covered fairly well by more than one bkp humbucker, but the one it brought to my mind straight off was the Nailbomb.  different people will suggest different pickups, but that's kind of the problem, most of us have only used one or two of the pickups and are biased towards them.  

the best brains to pick are those of Tim himself, followed by Phil King and Twilight Odyssey, they seem to have the most wide ranging experience of the pickups, and have a pretty good idea of what they're talking about.

if you do decide to buy one, i'm pretty confident you won't be disappointed, they all sound different, but so far the ones i've tried have alll sounded good!

you could be right , just for a warmer sound, i think it's the most powerful alnico pickup below the warpig. ceramics tend to have an edgier sound.   course, i'm drunk right now, so pay me no mind child!

the mule could be a consideration i guess. its exactly what you're describing except the high output, but it can handle all the gain you need.

That makes sense. But I'm confident that whatever I buy will sound great. I'm just asking about personal opinions about the voicing of the pickups.

Yeah, I definately don't want the sound to be too harsh. Of course I want some bite but not too much. I also want a good amount of mids and bass, I don't really go for a drastically scooped sound.

Holy Diver

I have it in several guitars, but the one that sounds best of all is my Jackson RR1T - which is maple/alder neck-thru.  Here is the OMFG :!: post I wrote after I installed them... :)

Search the Players forum for Holy Diver, most of the HD clips I posted were recorded with this guitar.

FWIW I also got a HD in an old Charvel that is also maple/alder neck-thru but with a Floyd - that sounds fantastic too :twisted:

I'd get a Holy Diver but I'd check out the Painkiller as well. It has a very tight and heavy sound with a lot of power in the mids.
