OK, It's kinda hard to find a HD in the US. I'll keep looking but how do you guys think Miracle Mans or Rebel Yells would sound in an Alder/Maple/Ebony guitar?

Thanks

miracle man = more tightness, less mids, more treble spike
rebel yell = less bass, more upper mids, brighter tone

holy diver will sound fatter cause it's more balanced
Riff Raff, Mules, Black Dog, VHII's, Cold Sweat

don't even bother. i was at one point also looking for BKP's in the US. Just buy straight from this site. they end up being about the same price and you can make sure you're getting exactly what you want.

DOH!! I forgot a couple important things, I tune down to D standard; will the HD mush out because of the low tuning? And I play alot of stuff inspired by Death Metal, will the HD have enough high end cut to get a real edgy sound?

Thanks for dealing with all my questions

BTW Thanks guys, I'll order directly from here.

Hell yes, HD will be fine doing that, it's a very versatile metal pickup, it can do anything from heavy rock to blazing death metal, i have a set in my Ibanez and it rules.
Black Dogs

Previous BKP's: Riff Raff, Holy Divers, Painkillers, C. Warpig, Nailbomb, Miracle Man.

Unless you do a lot of shredding and blast-picking, the Holy Diver will be fine. The Painkiller is tighter and has a better edge, but the HD is warmer and more organic.

Maybe I should consider the Painkiller then. And maybe a warmer neck pickup.

I've heard alot of good things about that pickup, but I like a very chunky, heavy rythem sound. How hot is it?
