Eventually I'll get around to doing a guide for it (i do a lot of work on instructables.com). Its fairly basic to do, if you can change pickups then you can do this! I used a cowlacious kit: http://www.cowlacious.com/LightProd.htm

That's reallly cool, looks a lot more tasteful than I expected. Does it generate any additional noise in the signal?

Surprisingly it dosent cause any! I was at first expecting some when the LEDs turn off and as a backup plan I was going to just wire them on but because no matter how low you set the circuit (it can be altered for speed and how long the light stays on) the leds are always on even though you can't see them.
