_tom_ likes his V-amp.....

Indeed I do.. it just needs some tweaking, once you know what sounds good and what doesnt you can get some good tones from it. I only really use it for low-volume practise and quick recordings when I cant be arsed to mic up my amp and it works great for that :D

thats because the V-amp is the ONLY thing decent made by behringer.   :crazy2: The durability of the rest of the stuff is sub-par. And i just dont like the tone of their stuff, but hey, tone is subjective, if somebody loves it then let them love it!
my maxon OD 808 really DOES make poop sound good

If you want a real brutal tone then I is recommedin an old Japaneze Boss DS-1 and crank up all the knobs and put it into a very dirty amp. As far as I know, Darrel Dimebag actually used a Boss DS-1 (MIJ) going into a Randall 100 watt head/4x12 stack, in his early 'brutal' days!

I'd imagine this one to be quite good.

p.s. not sure if any one has mentioned it so far as i just scanned through the previous posts.

Mike Fuller's not a very metal kinda guy - all of his pedals in the past seem to be tailored to vintage bluesy sounds.

Yeah, he's been hyping this one as a full on hi gain peadl though, ah well the spec on it seems pretty insane, plus it's pretty inovative aswell.

Cheap and good: the new Boss Metalcore.

If you're into this kind of 'Metaller than thou' sounds, this is the best out there.
It does NOT do subtlety in that it has an absolutely INSANE amount of gain. It should be illegal.

But it sounds thick, not buzzy like the MT2 at all. And the note seperation is strangely good. So it won't make your great axe sound like...bees.
