good METAL pedals...

ok, I'm sorted for gnarly death tone but what about something tighter in the region of Pantera-style distortion.  this would be into an old Marshall set totally clean.

suggestions?

I was quite impressed with the Electro Harmonix Metal Muff. Very cool pedal and not too expensive.

I have a Keeley/Boss Metal Zone which is great - way better than the stock version!

I have a pocket Metal Muff. It's like the big one, only smaller and with no eq or boost - it has a 3 setting scoop switch to replace the eq.
I can get a pretty convincing Cowboys From Hell sound from it.
BKPs: Warpigs, VHIIs, Holy Diver, Juggernauts

Maybe the new Blackstar pedals.

Or one of Krank's new pedals.

For the Pantera cold, SS tone...

MT2

or

Uber Metal

I find the Uber Metal much better myself. But more expensive too.

they are quite gopod but a little awkward to EQ because you have no control over your mids.
I sold one for £17 a week ago on ebay.

but you can get some decent tones.

if you have  a sound control near you go there even though they are discontinued they still have them on there boss pedalboards in every sc ive been in

thanks for the replies - think I'll have to hit some shops and see what fits.  I defo need bass/middle/treble to dial in the tone I want - swept mids would be cool

Check out the Pro Tone Body Rot II as well. Sounds sick. I can detect a little Dime in there and it makes down tuned guitars sound like they're gonna vomit.
