ok, when i came to installing my C-Warpig   ....

i found that the screws that hold the pickup rings on the razorback (both pups) are 82mm apart, and the standard is 85mm

this sucks, do pickup rings exist that have 82mm measurement but can hold a normal pickup?
i sure as hell don't want to drill my guitar......

thanks dudes  :)

I dont know of any.

I'd just screw em in. You wont see the other holes: they'll be under the ring.

Or you could file out a couple of mm from the inside of old ring and use that.

hmm that's an idea....

they would screw in at an angle if i just screwed them in, which would surely wreck the holes....

If the holes are a couple of mm apart I'd guess they'd make new ones. I cant tell from here though!

Ring mounting screws are thin enough to self-tap. You dont need to drill. Just make sure you line em up straight, postition the ring accurately first, tape it down and put some elbow grease in.

Edit: but filing a mm or so for the wp to fit on either side of the ring wont do any harm. Just take your time, dont go nuts, you cant put material back on it, and try nad get some rounded files or sandpaper for the corners, because you'll find that a flat file leaves quite conspicuous cut marks in the corners. You'll wanna fix them.

hmmm yeah thanks for the info. i'm not going to screw it in as it is, too risky really.

my dad says that you couldn't file the screw holes on the pickup ring, because it needs to be countersunk      :x

i think i need another pickup ring.......

I'd get another pickup ring.  Cheap option, plus you can put hte guitar back to standard afterwards.

hmm yeah but if they are standard then i don't want them. i have standard ones.

you see, the problem is, standard pickup rings have the space between the two furthest apart screw holes as 85mm.

the holes on my guitar are 82mm.

therein lies the problem.

if anyone can find such pickup rings, please post here!

thanks in advance!

Yeah, they fit standard humbuckers.  I misunderstood your original question, I thought you were talking about the distance beween the two screw holes which you use to adjust pickup heights.  If you are talking about the 4 screws which hold the pickup ring into place, they measure 82mm!!!  I couldn't use them on my guitar, as my guitar takes 85mm!  Anyway check if your Dad can get them for you first and if you can't, contact me! 8)

yep!

ok here goes....

on the old ones, the space between each of the holes that fit the surround to the guitar (lengthways) is 85mm.
the holes drilled in my guitar are 82mm.
the dimebucker surround is 82mm, but it is specially shaped for the dimebucker so i can't use it.
