7 String Pickups?
« on: July 13, 2005, 04:38:00 PM »
Hi guys, have to say I'm very intruiged by these pickups altogether.

Anyway, more to the point, I'm planning on swapping out the stock pickups on my Ibanez RG1527, so I was wondering do you offer pickups for 7 string guitars, and what kind of price would I be looking at here?

Also, what would you recommend? I play very heavy and progressive metal, and some of my main influences would be the likes of Death, Opeth, Cynic and so forth. Basically I need a very sharp sounding set of pickups that don't sound muddy on the low B and that have nice cleans aswell.

Thanks for any help.

The Warpig seems to be very popular among the 7-string players. There are some clips of 7-string Warpigs floating around on this forum. If you want something with less but tighter bass, Tim could make you a 7-string Miracle Man. The Warpig is better clean than the Miracle Man, I think.

We offer all of our pickups for 7 string guitars, at the same price as regular pickups.
We've sold Warpigs to allot of 7 string players; they do the Opeth tone very well. The 7 string version will handle the low frequencies very well, and has a nice clean tone.
All of our pickups are available in calibrated sets, that way you'll get a neck pickup that has been especially voiced to go with the bridge.
A couple of our forum members have the warpig in their 7 string guitars; I expect they will join in on this discussion soon!

Hey Karl, i think i have seen you around on the Petrucci forum.

I would go with Steve's advice he knows his stuff, and from what i have seen on the other forum i think they would suit your sound quite a bit. Maybe even a pair for your BC Rich if you like em.

Thanks Steve. How would I go about Purchasing them, there doesn't seem to be any option of 7 string pickups on the shop page.

Yep, that would be the same me. Although, which BC Rich? I have 4 of them, and if you include the custom that they're building for me, that's 5..

dude, just get the 7 string warpig. It really tightens up the low end, brings out the harmonics and the high end is great. I know, i have one in my 7 string  :D

order a warpig as usuall and write 7 string in the special instruction box.
