Weeee so finally we get back from the studio with the new album, 7 songs in 10 days (not too shabby me thinks).
As promised all guitar work is done with a Cermic Warpig in the bridge of a Gibson V, the accoustic parts were done with either a Taylor nylon string or a mixture of the Taylor and a coil tapped alnico Warpig in the neck.
Signal chain is as follows...
Ceramic Warpig loaded Gibson V into a Diezel/Messa Dual Recto miced up with a Sm57 and a Sennheiser 421 - Audient asp 008 - Apogee rosette 800 - Pro Tools HD 3
(i think i got that right?)
The guitars are Quad tracked (was mighty fun doing that to a click :-P) each channel has one track of Diezel and one track of Mesa Dual Recto (we found that mixing them together gave a meatier tone rather than just using the Diezel).
I'm not sure how the guitars are panned unfortunatly.
Anyways two of the songs can be found at
http://www.myspace.com/sekhmetukIn Pain, and Prepare for War are the new ones.
Hopefully this should give you and idea of how a Ceramic Warpig handles in a full band situation.
On a side note the Studio Engineer did mention that Bare Knuckles were the quietest pickups he's ever recorded.
