My friend gave me a copy that he had "aquired"

and i must say it is good but i just feel liek theres something lacking (probably marty friedman & chris poland)

all of drovers solos sound quite similar

and the song writing on whole is very repetitive and cheesy

all about the middle east conflict and bush  :x

So basically all im saying is i thought it would be better with the amount of time spent on it

The guitar sound and overall mixing is amazing though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the focus of Mustaine's bile on this album was the United Nations, not Bush?  United Abominations and all that?  And the fact that I read an interview where he talks about being proud to have met the President and shaken his hand?  Meh, I don't know.

But yes, I was pretty disappointed as well.  Only a few good songs, and they're the ones that were released before the album actually came out.

i'm still looking forward to it. however "not so good" it might be, it'll still be head and shoulders above pretty much any new metal that has been released recently.

From the songs i have heard so far (5) it's already better than TSHF. Didn't think much of that album, this one sounds much better though.

Eeeh... I would dispute that, I've heard some incredibly good new metal recently which has blown United Abominations out of the water.  Although, to be fair, a lot of it resides more in the death/black metal realm than the straightforward metal realm.  Nevertheless- it feels like Megadeth's time has passed, since United Abominations is not a return to form, in my opinion.
