... between the 2 positions of a LesPaul Standard?

Hello!

which model of BK PU for my LesPaul? I want a vintage sound and a good balance between Rythm and treble (the treble must be a little bit louder than the rythm).

I have 2 different setups in my Les Pauls. One has an Emerald in the bridge and an alnico IV Mule in the neck, the other is an alnico V Riff-Raff in the bridge and an alnico IV Stormy Monday in the neck. I love the sound of the alnico V & IV together (very Peter Greenish).

Really though if you order a calibrated set from Bare Knuckle, then you will get the balance between the pickups.

You can’t go wrong with a set of Mules. The bridge has a DC of 8.4K, neck DC7K. Both with alnico IV magnets. The mule is based on the spec of the original PAF, It is wound with the same wire (42 gauge plain enamel) with off set coils to increase the highs. It sounds amazing in les pauls too!

Listen to the various Mule sample MP3s linked from the "Players" section of the forum. They nail that vintage LP tone!

Alnico IV is much sweeter, it has a rich full tone. Alnico II sounds quite mushy in comparison.
