I'd say they need some bits changing, most notably the pickups, but yeah... seems a good price to me.

I wouldn't get it if it was just to 'add another to the collection', if it wasn't cheap you probably wouldn't buy it so i think it's rather the price that sounds good to you more than how good the guitar is.

Well, given that:

Its a great guitar for the money: well enough made, great playability, hardly used it seems, good neck, pretty resonant if thin in the highs.

I get paid tomorrow, plus some bonus

it was my birthday last week and I did next to nowt for it (25 and they're starting to just pass by)

I got it.

God I hate those massive headstocks =/

Other than that it looks nice - and prolly a steal for the price.

Looks nice from the front, not a fan of the bolt on neck on an Explorer but it probably still rocks!

Cheers for the nice comments. Its hardly a great guitar, it passes as an OK one, really. Great for the price. Really good actually. Dean has never failed at this, in my eperience.

The neck profile is almost the same as the guitar I did most of my early learning on (my jacskon), so it just fell into my hands. I love that shallow - C

I trust bolt ons more that sets: you can see the quality of the fit, and glue dampens vibration so a bad set with a lot of glue is about the worst thing you can get. But, yeah, Explorers look better in set or thru, but asthetics must bow to sense (imo).

I quite like the headstock. Goes well with the explorer body.

I will upgrade it at some point, but its suprisingly good as it is.  A little harsh, but pretty tight, little distinction between bridge and neck is dissapointing and obvious room for improvment. But I need to give it the MDV treatment first: I have a set of 12-54 just begging to go in it, pick a tuning and s how she fairs!
