to be honest, if i was looking into that type of money, i'd want to try eggle etc. before i went prs... though i'm a bit older, have a car etc., so maybe it's easier said than done for you, lol.

bear in mind, what i said about the eggle neck is based on memory... i didn't try them head to head. you might try it and think it's a lot different...  :lol:

and yer, i asked my dad if he could take me to coventry in the next week or so... so that should be cool. i'll hopefully be able to judge the necks, (and everything else of course, lol) myself... which as i am always told on here... is of course the best way... (im just a lazy bar-steward with no transport). :D

i've only asked the shop to reserve it anyway... theres no obligation whatsoever so if i change my mind i can pull out completely.... i just didnt want to look back on today as the day i let 'the one' go... if you see what i mean...  :lol:

and thanks for the words of encouragement from everyone else guys, lol.

i'll give it another play if my mind hasnt been grabbed by something else, and if it still has the same effect, i'll most definitely go for it. :)

and yer- philly - buy my Gibbo!  :lol:

nah im sure its far too low-class for the likes of this forum...

odd though, as much as the PRS totally destroys both the Gibson and the Jackson... in an odd way i still love the Gibson... it just has so much character... almost like you have to fit against it to play it... if i didnt fall in love with the PRS, and if i didnt have financial constraints, i would defo keep it.

thing about selling it is... im worried a buyer will think its shitee and i've conned them... when really i honestly think its great... (and im not an idiot  :lol: )... i find even expensive guitars cr@p... so its odd that i like the Gibson so much.


ANYWAY, random sentimental gibson chat over.

Heh, I'm glad your in love Sam.

although I'm not mad on PRS (always think of Nu Metal & Emo bands), I like the look of the orange finish one. Although I'm a sucker for a nice tiger stripe or whatever I think PRS guitars are usually too loud (yet I think bright orange isn't).

As has been said pay it a 2nd visit, before purchase to see if it's still the one before handing over money.

BTW if you are heading up to Coventry like PRS, have differing necks on 22 & 24 fret models, 24s are mahogany and 22s are maple. There is also a slightly different profile.

strange isnt it? same for me really... while a red quilt top seems O.T.T... a bright, graish orange seems quite placid :?

ahhh thats actually a very interesting point... i wouldnt have thought to ask that had i not known- cheers.

really looking forward to seeing these Eggles after everything i've heard from... well... everywhere... never heard a bad word about them.

I was actually going to say in the previous posting hands off the purple one (all mahogany), and looks perfect for perhaps a pair of Rebel Yells (with the purple bobbin tops ofcourse), but as I'm not actually in the market for another guitar (but how long will that last for)

Give Richard a call beforhand as they has more in stock than is on the website.

on a serious note, i've really liked the idea of Rebel Yells recently after re-visiting the Steve Stevens clips... and your right- the purpleness is just too much of a coincidence to even consider not buying a set  :D


and i didnt realise they had any more stock actually... good stuff.

well, firstly, organics have never really appealed to me...

secondly- i could go custom for even less than the PRS... i got a quote for £875 for what i THOUGHT was my 'dream guitar'.... but at the end of the day i cant play that product until its complete.... and if im unhappy with anything after its completion... its MY fault... and i dont think im ready with the detailed specs to get 100% what i want from scratch... whereas with the PRS i know what im getting, and i love it.


but im not rushing anything yet. ive got one quote from a luthier, and im in contact with another, as well paying a visit to coventy as said before...

so i am exploring other avenues...

we'll have to see how it goes... (i sound like someone MATURE saying that...  :evil: )

Definitely not too low-class.  I'd be tempted were it not for the slim-taper neck shape and that annoying little "step" where the neck joins the body.
