My new amp...

Well played my Hiwatt Studio/Stage MKII head through the Hiwatt 4x12" cab last night in a band situation for the first time using my Bare Knuckle Pickup Apache loaded 2004 USA Stratocaster.

I can't believe how happy I am. The tone is unreal and the Strat/Hiwatt combination oozes tone - sparkly, punchy, raunchy - really versatile - but the clarity of the notes is amazing. I well chuffed. I've pretty much nailed the "tone in my head"...

The Hiwatt really shows the character of the guitar/pickups so much more than the Marshall did. The Studio/Stage head is brilliant, really recommend it - on the 40w stage mode, master cranked as much as you can get away with - fantastic!!!!

Sounds great - I'm hoping to check out one of those soon.  What speakers do you have in the 4x12 - Celestions? Fanes?

Well that's a question - currently trying to find this out myself on a Hiwatt forum, but as far as I'm aware I think they are Fanes - BUT there is a distinct possibility they are Celestions.

I say that because my 4x12" Hiwatt cab is slightly unusual as it's a slant cab, manufactured late 1970's/early 1980's with Hiwatt branded speakers (white label, red text) - am due to find out shortly if they are fanes or celestions. Either way it sounds absolutely killer with the Strat!
