Apache and Irish Tour samples
« on: May 22, 2007, 01:37:34 PM »
Hello,

I've recorded three short samples with my Strat-copy -

Apache middle, neck position

Irish Tour neck, bridge position

Two pickups in parallel

Hard ash body, rosewood fretboard, 250K pots, old strings. :P Plugged straight into Toneport, AC-30 model + a little bit of compression and reverb. Factory settings, no pedal, see pic below -

The middle position cleans up really nicely with fingerpicking. :) I hope you'll like the clips.

Great tones and cool demos. Any chance of a higher gain neck Aapche clip? Im tempted and need to hear one rocking out.If you can it would be appreciated.

Is this heavy enough? I had some fun with the 'jumpered' Plexi model. I'll record another heavy clip tomorrow but this time I'll use the neck pickup 'properly', lol...

Here you are. :)

Apache neck solo

It's a quick solo over the heavy track I posted yesterday. I'm not good at soloing but I hope the clip helps you decide. Tube Screamer model into JCM800 model - compressed, fluid neck lead sound with a hint of glass, which prevents it from becoming too consistent.

Thanks for the comments again. These are great pickups, I'm really surprised how versatile the Apache is. It's probably the lowest-output pickup in the BKP range, which might be exactly what makes it so flexible.

Thanks for posting these clips. I was thinking about a single coil project with either Irish Tour's or Apache's. I still can't decide which I like the best, but the clips are great!

hi,
thanks for putting those clips up. i'm looking into getting a strat set and was undecided between the irish tours and the apaches. as a massive rory fan i always leaned towards the obvious, but i'm gonna have a long hard think about it before i jump either way.

thanks again!
