'Best' B.L.S studio album after "Sonic Brew " ?
« on: May 26, 2007, 01:46:26 PM »
Hi all !

Although I'm usually into retro stuff, I have really been enjoyed the truly monstrous sounds on the B.L.S. album " Sonic Brew".

Which studio album would you knowledgable folks recommend I listen to next ?

Thanks in advance,

F.F.  :D

Blessed Hellride is my favourite. Stronger Than Death and 1919, as well as the live one, are pretty good as well.

My favourite BLS album is probably Blesses Hellride, but I prefer Pride and Glory to BLS. Its got more of a southern rock, bluesy style and I love it.
Riff Raff/Stormy Monday, Holydiver and Mississippi Queen!!!

Pride and Glory is definitely his best work, imo.  8)

I prefer BLS to any other of his projects. Blessed Hellride is my favorite though most of them have the same kinda vibe so any of them are fine.

I love Pride & Glory, just absolutley kicks ass, but I haven't checked out any BLS stuff. Is it that good?

Stronger Than Death. I would get them in the order they came out.

Pride and Glory is his master piece album.

BLS are a great live band! I saw him a few months ago in New Orleans.

Here's some P&G for ya!

From best to worst I'd rank them:

Stronger than Death
1919
Hangover music
Sonic Brew
Hellride
Mafia

The ones I know, anyway.

1919 is faster, stronger than death is harder. Depends how yo like your metal, really, but it's between those 2 for me.

Thank you for your input folks !

Plenty to consider there. All factors taken into account, ( as I want hard'n'heavy) - it looks like "Blessed Hell Ride" at no 1, followed by " "Stronger Than Death".

On "Sonic Brew" I prefer the slow grinds.

All of this seems strange, as my playing is very different from the above.

Thanks again, no post or comment has been or will go unheeded.

Cheers !  :D

I've been listening back to some BLS and I'd probably go with Sonic Brew since it's still got some of that P&G songwriting thing going on and the vocals haven't quite morphed into Ozzy yet.

Not only that, I'd say it's the only ZW album that's even worth a listen.
